DetailReel
Privacy Policy
DetailReel is a local-first mobile application for creating before-and-after media and video exports. This policy explains how RUCKR App, LLC (“RUCKR,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information in connection with DetailReel, this website, and support communications.
1. Who we are
RUCKR App, LLC is the controller or operator of personal information covered by this policy. You can contact us about privacy at [email protected].
2. Scope
This policy covers the DetailReel application, the pages at detailreel.app, and messages you send to us for support. It does not cover information handled by Apple, Google Play, an email provider, or another service under that service’s own privacy policy. We identify relevant providers below.
3. Information stored in DetailReel
DetailReel is designed to work without an account and without cloud sync. The following information is stored locally on your device unless you choose to share or export it:
- project records, project text, and editing choices;
- before-and-after photos and other media you add or capture;
- Brand Kit details, including business information and logo files;
- app preferences, downloaded soundtracks, previews, cover images, and completed exports.
We do not receive or operate a server copy of this local content. DetailReel does not provide an account system or cloud backup. Your device, operating-system backup settings, and any destination you select for sharing may handle copies separately.
4. Device permissions and your sharing choices
DetailReel requests camera and photo-library permissions only when needed for the feature you select. Camera access lets you capture media. Photo-library access lets you choose media or save an export. You can decline or later change permissions in your device settings, although a related feature may then be unavailable.
When you use a device sharing control to send an export, you direct the transfer to the recipient or platform you choose. That recipient or platform’s terms and privacy practices apply after the transfer. We do not control those copies.
5. Information handled by providers and platforms
App stores and subscriptions
Apple and Google Play process purchases, subscriptions, trials, renewals, refunds, and payment information under their own policies. DetailReel may receive transaction and entitlement information needed to determine whether a purchase or subscription is active. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number.
Optional Firebase Analytics
Firebase Analytics is off unless you give explicit consent in the app. If you opt in, we send only privacy-minimized approved usage events and limited app-instance, device, and app information used to understand product use and reliability. We configure collection so Advertising ID collection and ad-personalization signals are disabled. We do not send your media, business details, project text, logo files, or exports to Firebase Analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time in DetailReel’s privacy settings; collection stops going forward after you withdraw it.
Essential Sentry diagnostics
We use Sentry for essential crash reporting to detect and fix failures. It is always on because it supports the security and reliable operation of the app. We configure it to receive only scrubbed technical crash information. Media, business details, project text, screenshots, view hierarchy, session replay, user identity, and stored IP addresses are excluded by configuration.
Support email and website logs
If you email us, we receive the information in your message and the email metadata supplied by your provider. Firebase Hosting processes standard access logs when you visit this site, which may include technical request information such as IP address, browser, requested page, and time of visit. This website has no forms, cookies, analytics, external fonts, or third-party content requests.
Google/Firebase, Sentry, Apple, and Google Play act as service providers or platform operators for the functions above. Their processing is also governed by their applicable terms and privacy notices.
6. How we use information and our legal bases
We use information to provide requested app functions, determine store entitlements, respond to support requests, maintain the website, protect the app, and diagnose and correct failures. Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, for our legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable service, and with your consent for optional analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing completed before withdrawal.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. When information is disclosed
We disclose information only as needed to operate the services described in this policy, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or support a corporate transaction such as a merger or sale. For example, providers may process limited information for hosting, diagnostics, app distribution, payment administration, or email. We require service providers to handle information consistently with applicable law and the purpose for which it was shared.
8. Retention and deletion
Local DetailReel content remains on your device until you delete it in the app or remove the app. Uninstalling DetailReel generally removes its local data, subject to your device’s operating system, backups, or storage behavior. Deleting local content or uninstalling the app does not delete copies you already exported, shared, saved to another service, or included in a device backup.
We retain support messages, diagnostic data, entitlement information, and website logs only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including support, security, legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs. Retention periods vary with the data type and circumstance. We then delete or de-identify information where reasonably possible.
9. International transfers
RUCKR and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries that may have different data-protection laws from your location. When required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as contractual commitments, and take account of the provider’s security practices.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of personal information we hold about you; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to appeal a decision about your request and to complain to a data-protection authority. To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your request and may decline or limit it where the law permits.
Because DetailReel is local-first, the most direct way to access or delete project content is through the app or by uninstalling it. We cannot retrieve local-only content that never left your device. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may complain to your local supervisory authority. We will respond to requests as required by applicable law.
11. Children and legal capacity
DetailReel is not directed to anyone who lacks the legal capacity to accept these terms under the law where they live. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child in a way that requires parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect the information we process. No system, device, or transmission is completely secure. Keep your device protected and take care when exporting or sharing media.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices, the app, or legal requirements. We will post the updated version here and change the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice when required by law.
14. Contact
Questions, requests, or complaints about this policy can be sent to [email protected].
